This class is not only for beginners, but for any acrylic painter needing the basics of acrylic painting. Setting up a palette, how to establish a strong composition, mixing colors, how to desaturate/mute a color to create subtle tones, ways of applying paint, and properly cleaning a brush. Come work in a supportive environment! The class tuition includes materials; if you would like to bring your own materials, please use code MINUSMATERIALS upon registration to have this fee deducted from the tuition.

(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Tuesday, July 16. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

Materials List: Acrylic Painting Basics 2024

A materials fee has been included in the cost of tuition and all materials will be provided. For this specific class, students who already have or prefer to purchase their own materials may use code MINUSMATERIALS upon registration to have this fee deducted from the tuition. This code is only valid for specific classes that contain this materials notice and is not to be used across all BAC offerings.

ACCESSIBILITY

NOTE: This class will be held in Berkshire Art Center’s 2D Studio at Citizens’ Hall, Stockbridge. Our 2D Studio is located on the main level of the building, which is accessible via a ramp from the parking lot. In addition, restrooms are located on the basement level of our building so stair use is also required.

For all classes held at Citizens’ Hall in Stockbridge, please note our historic building has narrow doorways and is not equipped with an elevator. Our bathrooms, ceramics studio, and 3D studio are accessible via stairs only. We welcome and make every effort to accommodate learners of all styles and abilities. Please contact us if you have questions about accessibility to our building and classes before registering!
