Wednesday Nelena Sorokin has shown her work at museums, cultural centers, and galleries in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. Her work is in collections throughout the United States. Her ongoing engagement with social justice, spirituality, and Jungian psychology are integral to her work.
As a founding member of the Hestia Art Collective, she participated in researching, raising funds, designing, and painting “The History of Women in Northampton from 1680 to 1980,” a three thousand square foot mural Northampton, MA. In 2003, she participated in its major restoration.
Primarily a painter, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from James Madison University. Currently on the faculty of Berkshire Art Center, Stockbridge, Massachusetts, she has been teaching since 1977.
