I have always been a curious individual; finding a spark of inspiration flashing from somewhere and needing to pursue it, to observe it, become familiar with it, and to grow from it. For as long as I can remember, I receive just as much satisfaction in sharing what I have gained with others as I do in learning for myself. When people would tell me that I should pursue teaching, my quick response would be that I am too busy being a student. This worked to end the conversation until one of my teachers said to me, “You know, if you want to learn something at a deeper level, it helps to teach it.” That statement allowed me to see the potential that I could bring to people as an educator.
