Classes are occasionally offered within a faculty artist's personal studio, and we often partner with the following Berkshire County locations:
What to Expect
Berkshire Art Center is the leading provider of high quality, hands-on instruction in the visual arts year-round at sites throughout Berkshire County.
Our adult studio classes and workshops are open to students of all levels, ages 14 and older. Most classes are open up to 12 students, except ceramics classes which have a max of 10 students, allowing our faculty to provide both group instruction and individual attention.

Parking
Most classes and workshops are held at our flagship location, Citizens' Hall, in Stockbridge just off Route 183. There is plentiful parking in the lot in front of Citizens’ Hall.
We now also hold classes and events at our new second location, the Brothership Building in Pittsfield. There is ample street parking near the Brothership Building on North Street. The first 30 minutes are free between 8am-4pm, but please note there is a 3-hour limit for parking on North Street. Parking is free after 4pm, on weekends, and holidays. There are also parking lots nearby. More information and parking locations can be found on Downtown Pittsfield's website.
Accessibility
At Citizens’ Hall, a ramp leads from the parking lot to our main entrance. Our historic building has narrow doorways and is not equipped with an elevator. Our bathrooms, ceramics studio, and 3D studio are accessible via stairs only. Please contact us if you have questions about accessibility to our building and classes.
Classes and events at Berkshire Art Center’s Brothership Building location take place on the ground level from the North Street entrance, which is handicapped accessible. Upon entering the lobby, Berkshire Art Center is located in the lefthand suite. The suite on the right is the William Stickney Adult Learning Center, and in the middle is a staircase which leads down to other businesses. Our primary bathroom is located by following the very back hallway of our suite, at the back of our storage room. There is another bathroom on the basement level of the building, which can be found by following the signs downstairs. The building is equipped with an elevator.
We welcome and make every effort to accommodate learners of all styles and abilities.
What to Bring
We provide all necessary materials for our classes and workshops where there is a materials fee included. Otherwise, students will receive a materials list in their confirmation email upon registration to purchase prior to class. We do not provide materials for painting or drawing open studios.
What to Wear
You can expect to get messy when working with certain materials — clay, paint, ink, dye, and others. It's best to wear older clothes or an apron during your class.
