DONNA bERNSTEIN
It all started back in 1988 when I wandered into a pottery studio in Kew Gardens, New York, never imagining that it would be a life-changing event. Now, more than 30 years later, clay is my passion. Clay is fascinating medium with endless possibilities. It gives me great pleasure to form a mound of mud into a functional piece of art. I was a special education teacher by profession and a hobbyist potter for many years. Throughout that time, potting in my home studio and taking classes and workshops throughout NYC and NJ. Over the years I have participated in pit, wood and raku firings. In 2018 I was fortunate enough to become a full-time potter, teaching pottery in a local NJ community studio creating my own work. Now, as a Berkshire County resident, I own and operate The Clay Cottage in Richmond MA, where I teach and run raku workshops. My work is sold at The Clay Cottage and in a variety of stores throughout Berkshire County.
