The Brothership Building North Gallery Window curated by Berkshire Art Center will feature "Earthen Impressions: Embracing Nature's Influence" by Kyle Strack for the months of December and January.

About the Artist:

Kyle Strack is an artist and designer based out of Berkshire County, MA. He is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, where he received a BFA in Ceramics (2019). Nature has always had an importance in both his life and art. Growth and erosion, colors, forms, and patterns that are all found in the natural world are great influences in the work he makes. Working with his hands to directly inform, sculpt, build, and create his work gives him a physical connection to the natural material of clay and this world that it comes from.Through his work Strack creates an environment that welcomes viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty and peacefulness that he feels when in nature.

About the Show:

Through the mediums of ceramic and plaster, Strack presents a body of work inspired by the natural world. Strack’s body of work includes a series of clay pressings informed and influenced by textures and colors of the Berkshires. These clay works are portrayed through hanging pieces and vessels that bring a snapshot of the surrounding landscape of the Berkshires into a new light. Three plaster works titled, "Sea,” “Wind,” and “Sky” express a sculptural representation of those three elements. The three lighting pieces match their plaster counterparts in an illuminated way.

Opening Reception:

The artist will be holding an Opening Reception on Friday, December 6th, from 5-7pm, in the lobby of the Brothership Building (141 North Street, Pittsfield).
