The Brothership Building Window curated by IS183 Art School of the Berkshires will feature Alicia Shogry’s "Up In The Trees" for the month of February.
Alicia Shogry’s Artist Statement:
"I'm coming to believe that all humankind were birds in our past lives. Every single one of us wishes at some point in this life that we could fly. Birds also have evolutionary ties to dinosaurs and so have seen many ages of our planet. I've fallen into obsessive love with birds' nests — how they are engineered and created, from tiny and isolated to massive and communal — and I like the idea of keeping part of our ancient feathery souls close to our hearts in artwork (and jewelry)."
Alicia Shogry (Soos) is an artist and educator living in Western Massachusetts. Her favorite artistic subjects are plants and animals (like birds!), whether she is painting, drawing, or crafting.
