Announcement: Leadership Transition at Berkshire Art Center
Dear Berkshire Art Center Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some important news regarding a leadership transition at Berkshire Art Center.
It is with immense gratitude that we announce that Lucie Castaldo will be stepping down from her role as Executive Director on August 9th, 2024. When she took the helm in 2018, we began to move in a new direction while always keeping ourselves anchored in our history and founding mission. Lucie's vision, passion, and commitment have significantly shaped Berkshire Art Center, fostering a thriving arts community and laying a strong foundation for future growth.
Lucie’s Accomplishments include:
Navigating the global COVID-19 pandemic by expanding our virtual footprint, retaining all staff, and securing $330,000 in government funding
Expanding our footprint to include our new space on North Street, Pittsfield
Leading BAC through a rebranding process that included focus groups & brand design responding to feedback from our broader community
Reducing our annual deficit by 90%
We are incredibly grateful for her contributions and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.
Every end is nothing more than a new beginning. As we embark on the journey to find our next Executive Director, we are pleased to announce that we have secured the partnership of Positively Partners, a renowned human resources consulting firm, to assist us in this critical search. Their expertise will be invaluable in identifying a leader who can build upon the incredible foundation that Lucie has established and guide Berkshire Art Center into its next chapter.
You can help us build upon our momentum! To honor Lucie’s 15 years of service to Berkshire Art Center and the tremendous work she did to keep BAC afloat during COVID and thriving post-COVID, we seek to raise $50,000. Make a gift today to the Secure BAC’s Future Fund and support the start of our 2024/2025 season!
Please consider a gift at a meaningful level to you and know that every gift is important.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement with Berkshire Art Center. Together, we will ensure a smooth transition and continue to foster a vibrant and inclusive arts community.
Warm regards,
Mike Zippel
