Laura Dickstein Thompson Named as the New Executive Director of Berkshire Art Center

Berkshire Art Center’s Board of Directors is excited to announce art educator and visual artist Laura Dickstein Thompson as the organization’s new Executive Director. Thompson will begin in her new role at Berkshire Art Center on October 21st, 2024. She will succeed Berkshire Art Center’s former Executive Director, Lucie Castaldo, who stepped down in August 2024 after 15 years of service to the organization.

Berkshire Art Center Announces 2024 Berkshire Artist Residency Exhibitions

Berkshire Art Center’s 2024 Berkshire Artist Residency Program is coming to a close with three exhibition openings this summer and fall at Chesterwood, The Red Lion Inn and Ventfort Hall. This year, local artists, Dai Ban, Grigori Fateyev, Kyle Strack, Kara Smith, and Stacy Scibelli worked at their respective sites for three months using each unique historical setting as inspiration for their art-making.

Applications for Berkshire Art Center’s 2024 Berkshire Artist Residency Now Open!

Berkshire Art Center is now accepting applications for its 2024 Berkshire Artist Residency Program. This year, Berkshire-based artists can apply for a summer residency at three local institutions - The Red Lion Inn, Chesterwood, and now, Venfort Hall. A total of five selected artists will spend three months creating work inspired by the history, landscape, culture, and architecture of those institutions.

Berkshire Art Center is pleased to announce applications are now open for its Summer 2024 Internship Program. Students ages 15+ are encouraged to apply for a Teaching Assistant position in Berkshire Art Center’s Summer 2024 Camp Season, which provides an opportunity to work alongside local artists and aid children ages 4 to 14 years old in visual art exploration.
