Join our Collage @ Home workshop series ,which meets once a month to offer online collage project instruction to spark ideas that keep you creating for the rest of the month. Each workshop includes guided mindfulness meditation as a tool for intentional creativity and artistic focus. Collage inspired by Matisse is a fun way to learn to " draw with scissors" like the artist Henri Matisse, whose collages are well known throughout the art world. Learn art history, while expanding your collage techniques. Using brightly colored papers, discover the lively, cut out shapes and forms that can be used to create dynamic collage designs. This workshop includes my technique demonstrations and student sharing. Join our growing community of collage and paper lovers, online, to learn and share in an encouraging, supportive, creative community.

Materials

All you need is imagination and colored paper, magazines, scissors and glue stick! scissors, glue stick, brightly colored paper, magazines and additional collage stash items (like painted papers or mulberry paper, etc.).

Online Classes at IS183

Register for a class (or series) on our website, and we will email you a Zoom meeting link along with instructions. Simply use the link to join the online class at the designated time! Download the Zoom app on your smartphone or tablet, or use your laptop/desktop web browser. The web browser client will download automatically when you join your first Zoom meeting. (Have a look at this Zoom overview.)

You will join a live, interactive lesson presented in real-time by an IS183 Faculty Artist. Small class sizes will allow you to engage personally with the instructor and other students, just like in the studio! Faculty lessons will primarily be demonstration-based, but may have segments in which students are challenged to work on independent assignments. Each class and faculty approach will be unique!
