Throwing off the hump is a useful technique for throwing multiple small/medium items in one sitting. Participants will create small/medium items from 8-10lb clay. This workshop will offer a choice of stoneware or porcelain. This class is appropriate for intermediate/advanced level students and participants must have taken an intro level wheel-working class or equivalent and need to be able to trim/finish independently during open studio time (included in tuition for finishing class work, valid through 5/15).

(In the event that IS183 has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, students will be emailed the same week of any cancellations with information on the scheduled makeup date. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with IS183. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the first day of your class.

CLASS MATERIALS

• Students registering for this class must purchase the Ceramics Class Materials Fee including clay, glazing, and firing (unless you have leftover clay purchased from IS183 in the last year). Per the instructor's recommendation, students registering for this class should purchase the “95400 White Clay” or the Porcelain option.
