Class Date: September 24, 2023
Location: Citizens' Hall, Stockbridge

Chalice Mitchell will teach ink painting in a step-by-step progression that makes ink accessible. Students will learn to paint chrysanthemum, one of the four symbolic plant forms that form the basis of traditional ink painting. The other three; plum blossom, orchid, and bamboo will be taught in winter, spring, and summer respectively. Chrysanthemum blooms in autumn when other plants have passed and represents perseverance. It is also associated with nobility as it symbolizes the Imperial family of Japan.
