Working in a Series: The Power of Repetition — Oct 7
Working in a Series: The Power of Repetition — Oct 7
Instructor: Jill Gustavis
Day & Time: Saturday, 9:30am-12:30pm
Class Date: October 7, 2023
Location: Citizens' Hall, Stockbridge
Materials List: See class description.
Find out how following a thread of an idea can produce interesting and unexpected results. Bring your ideas or come open to inspiration to create a series of your own devising. Through the process of repetition you’ll find that the whole is often much more than the sum of the parts!
Learn how to focus on one or many variables to make your series tie together. Use the class to plan out sketches of a series idea or to get started on a central technique with a few foundational pieces.
This class is open to explore with any medium, although Jill will be working in watercolor to demonstrate the creative process. If you normally work with a more setup-intensive medium or at a larger scale, this is a great opportunity to use the workshop to get inspired among other artists and sketch out a series idea to expand on at home!
(In the event that BAC has to cancel class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this workshop will be Saturday, October 14. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
Please note proof of vaccination is not required and masks are optional, but encouraged. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.
CLASS MATERIALS
Pencils & drawing paper will be provided, but students may bring their own media-specific paper and supplies if they'd like to start applying their ideas during the workshop.
