During this class you will carve a printing plate which will then be used to make a highly textured fine/pure silver pendant using metal clay. Metal clay is a moldable material made of a binder, a little water, and talcum powder-fine precious metal (for this class fine/pure silver). Metal clay will be formed into a pendant, refined, fired and finished in this three-day class. There is no prerequisite required for this class and it is open to students of all skill levels, beginner to advanced.

CLASS MATERIALS

A materials fee has been included in the cost of tuition and students will receive a kit provided by the instructor, as well as various tools and consumables provided by BAC.

In addition, students are expected to bring a sketchbook, as well as the the following optional materials if desired:

• toothbrush (Optional)

• jeweler's tweezers for soldering in assorted sizes, large and small (Optional)

• jewelerʼs needle files (Optional)

• assorted jewelerʼs pliers (Optional)

• Optivisor or similar magnifying glasses (Optional)

• clamp-on lamp (Optional)
