Make a one-of-a-kind cozy creation or holiday gift! This class will utilize collage making + the application of digital processing to create a Jacquard woven throw blanket. Students will create their own abstract collage artwork. Referencing Matisse cutouts, we will explore the use of color and shape derived from everyday objects. Students will be instructed how to approach their work through the lens of designing within the textile medium.

The first two classes (October 21st and 28th from 3:00-5:30pm) will be held closer together to develop artwork + create digital files for manufacture. The third class (December 9th from 3:00-5:00pm) will be held about 6 weeks later to reveal our freshly delivered throw blankets and talk about your impressions of seeing your artwork made into fiber!

CLASS MATERIALS

A materials fee has been included in the cost of tuition so most materials will be provided, as well as the cost for ordering and shipping your designed woven throw. Students must bring an iPad with the Procreate App downloaded on their device ($9.99 from the App Store).
