Adding dimension and movement to a wheel thrown form is a fun and dynamic practice, perfect for all skill levels. Learn and practice a variety of techniques to add graceful lines and texture to your wet and leather-hard pots. Some of the processes we will cover: faceting, darting, fluting and ribbing. Thick walls? No problem!!! This class is for you! All levels welcome!

Beginning January 2023, proof of vaccination is no longer required for this class. Masks will continue to be optional, but encouraged for this class. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.
CLASS MATERIALS
Students registering for this class must purchase the Ceramics Class Materials Fee including clay, glazing, and firing. If you have leftover clay purchased from BAC in the last year, the clay purchase requirement can be waived. Please be sure to mention this in the "NOTES/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION" section of your registration. Per the instructor's recommendation, beginner students registering for this class should purchase the “95400 White Clay” option. Intermediate/Advanced students may select the clay type of their choice.
Students are welcome to bring any personal tools as well as a notebook and towel.
There is a materials/firing fee is for every 25 lbs (sleeve) of clay used. This fee goes towards glaze materials and firing costs (fuel, electricity, etc). Choose from white, red, porcelain or reclaimed (mix of camp and white) clay. More clay can be purchased if needed.
Due to the rise in cost from the supplier, Berkshire Art Center has raised the price of clay as of 9/21/2023.
NOTE: Porcelain Clay is currently out of stock as of November 5th, 2024.
