In this welcome & intro session on World Collage Day 2023, participants will learn about the International Day of Collage and the world wide celebration for this event.

Karen Arp-Sandel invites the group to meditate on interconnectedness, weaving meaning with collage and the celebration of this free form art form. The collage art project she offers, inspires the group to think personally about how a collage gatherers meaning when created layer by layer. Karen offers tips and techniques for the design and composition of a layered collage. Participants are welcome to share their ideas, ask questions and interact in this lively online studio for collage enthusiasts.

Tiered Pricing

Berkshire Art Center is excited to offer tiered pricing for our virtual World Collage Day workshops in effort to increase access for all and ensure everyone can participate in the celebration of collage! Throughout the day, virtual workshops and events will be  available at three ticket prices, with a limited number of sponsored spaces available to those who need them. Please pay what you can when registering to ensure that this pricing model sustainably supports all interested participants as well as our wonderful Berkshire Art Center faculty artists. Berkshire Art Center values making art accessible to all and supporting the artists who share their skills. Please thoughtfully consider your current income level (no proof required), the value of this class to you, and your ability to support a fair price for fellow community members in need.

CLASS MATERIALS

Participants will need scissors, glue stick, assorted paper, magazines, colored tissue paper, recycled paper items like envelopes, tickets and tea tags, ephemera, and cardstock paper for substrate.
