Instructor: Ian Prishwalko
Day & Time: Saturdays, 12:30pm-3:00pm
Start Date: April 13, 2024
End Date: May 4, 2024
Location: Citizens' Hall, Stockbridge
Materials List: See class description.
Collagraphy is the incredibly versatile process of affixing various textures to a rigid substrate to create a print. Although these plates can stand alone, when layered together in a print the potential for depth and visual interest is limitless. In this course we will explore creating plates with masking tape, low relief objects, and make use of carborundum grit (as well as similar materials). Ultimately we will use various inking methods in order to fully explore the possibilities of what we've created.
(In the event that BAC has to cancel class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Saturday, May 11. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
CLASS MATERIALS
A materials fee has been included in the cost of tuition and all materials will be provided to you. Students are asked to please collect some low-relief found objects prior to the first class (nothing too hard or sharp).
