In this session of after-school art at the Brothership Building, students will be inspired by local artists who love to play! Creative folks know that experimentation, discovery, and play are essential parts of the art-making process. Kids already know that art-making is meant to be fun. We will explore all the ways that doodling, scribbling, moving our bodies, and letting ourselves be silly can lead to powerful works of art and creativity. We'll make "Monster Mash-Ups," "Imaginary Maps," and more, inspired by local artists Deb Koffman, Adam Gudeon, Laura Didyck, and Donna Mikklesen. Students will uncover the power of self-inquiry and play in order to create artwork that's uniquely their own.

This program is FREE and open to middle and high school students from Pittsfield Public Schools (Herberg, Reid, Taconic and PHS).

BUSING

NEW! Busing will be available for middle school students who attend Herberg and Reid. Upon registration, please make sure to indicate at checkout in the “NOTES / ADDITIONAL INFO” section if your student will be taking the bus and which school they attend.

HEALTH FORMS

Each student is required to have a current Health and Emergency Contact Form on file with Berkshire Art Center (BAC). Please fill out a form for each child that will be attending a BAC program and ensure you have your child’s insurance information ready when filling out the form. Health forms are due as soon as possible at the time of registration and no later than one week before a program begins.

COVID-19 vaccines are not required for students attending this program. As of July 5, 2022, masks will be optional, but encouraged for students, staff, and faculty. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.
