Branch weaving using a Y-shaped stick is a creative way to incorporate nature into one's weaving. The branch chosen creates the structure that encompasses the weaving. This workshop will take place at Edith Wharton’s home, The Mount - an historic house/museum with beautiful gardens and woods surrounding the grounds. As part of our process we will be foraging for natural materials such as leaves, flowers, twigs and grasses, and integrating them into our weaving. This is a wonderful way to connect with nature and create unique, organic art pieces.

With the purchase of tuition, students are invited to stay on-site at The Mount and will have access to the Main House following the workshop as well as a complimentary ticket to the the afternoon's lecture, "Page Dickey | Uprooted: A Gardener Reflects On Beginning Again" starting at 3pm.

Please note this workshop will take place rain or shine. If weather does not permit foraging, that component will be omitted. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.

CLASS MATERIALS

A materials fee has been included in the cost of tuition and all materials will be provided for this workshop. Students should bring gardening gloves and wear clothes appropriate for artmaking and foraging.
