Outdoor Painting Studio (at Hancock Shaker Village) — Sept 25
Outdoor Painting Studio (at Hancock Shaker Village) — Sept 25
Instructor: Marilyn Orner
Day & Time: Fridays, 10–12pm
Dates: September 25 & October 9, 2020
Meetings: 2
Location: Hancock Shaker Village, Pittsfield
Outdoor Painting Studio at Hancock Shaker Village is an opportunity to work in socially distanced proximity alongside other artists with instructor Marilyn Cromwell available for advice and guidance. We will be painting outdoors in beautiful fall surroundings, and you may choose to incorporate the Village's scenic beauty and architecture within your artwork! Students may use any medium of their choice and work in oils, acrylics, or watercolor.
Tuition includes a fee for site admission.
Students are responsible for bringing all materials they will need for class (including water for painting). Students must wear a mask and maintain appropriate social distance from other participants and visitors throughout. Easels will not be provided and we ask that students bring a chair if they would like to work sitting down — so grab your Tanglewood chair!
Students are encouraged to streamline their materials as much as possible. Some suggestions include limiting your colors, bringing a drawing board and not an easel, and maybe working on a smaller scale. You may want a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, a water bottle for drinking water and painting water, clips to secure your surface to your board, medium if you need it, wipes or paper towels, a small trash bag, and a way to transport your brushes home where you can properly clean them. A spray bottle filled with water is handy for keeping acrylics damp. Bring whatever you are comfortable carrying yourself and remember to wear your mask! This is going to be fun!
