Drawing the Figure from Sculpture in Charcoal at Chesterwood: Workshop 1 — Jul 27
Instructor: Michael Rousseau
Day & Time: Tuesday, 9:30am–12:30pm
Dates: July 27, 2021
Location: Chesterwood, Stockbridge
Materials List: See class description.
Explore Daniel Chester French's sculpture and learn to draw the human figure in one or more workshops in this three part series. Historically, drawing from plaster casts was the second stage of learning to draw in a traditional art atelier (art school). Sculptures are the perfect models developing form through charcoal -- motionless and devoid of color. Each class will give students the unique opportunity to work from sculptures specially borrowed from collections storage for inspiration in this series!
Rain Date: July 28
