Humans were creating objects of use and beauty from clay 30,000 years ago! The versatile coil pot, with its methodical rhythm of building both symmetrical and asymmetrical forms, lends us endless possibilities. Learn to create thin walled coil pots in the ancient tradition of Mata Ortiz. We will focus on building skills in order to create large full volumed pots. Combining traditional techniques with contemporary design, we will explore nuances of form and surface.
Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with IS183. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the first day of your class.
IS183 is able to prorate tuition for any students registering for this class who are unable to attend class for religious reasons on 9/6-9/8 for Rosh Hashanah and 9/15-9/16 for Yom Kippur. Please sign up regularly and then email Jen@is183.org with the date(s) you are unable to attend due to religious reasons so we can refund you accordingly.
