Classic Monochromatic Watercolors: Landscapes in Payne’s Gray — Nov 8

A one-session workshop focused on the application of watercolors using just one color. In this class you’ll create a landscape composition only using payne’s gray watercolor paint (it’s a dark blue-black). By not having to think about color, you’ll be able to better focus on getting the right shades or value, making this a great workshop for beginners and practicing students alike!
By the end of the workshop, students will have a better knowledge of how to build value and achieve contrast for a stronger, more dramatic painting. Each student will have a small completed painting to take home to enjoy or gift this holiday season!
Materials will be provided, but students may also bring extra brushes or supplies they’d prefer to use or a different color paint with which they’d like to try this technique. A line drawing will be available to trace if students are not comfortable drawing the subject freehand.
Artwork image featured is a representation of the style and subject being taught, the exact image used for the workshop project may vary.
(In the event that BAC has to cancel class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this workshop will be Tuesday, November 29. BAC will prorate students for any classes missed due religious observation and high holidays on which classes are scheduled. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with BAC. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the first day of your class.
