Spend 3 days photographing the beauty of Berkshire landscapes. We will visit multiple locations offering unique landscapes and creative composition options. Waterfalls, sunsets, sunrises, rivers, and other staple Berkshire scenic locations will be included. Daily schedule below:

Day One: Monday, May 8th
8:00am-9:30am: Meet at Berkshire Art Center's Citizens' Hall and enjoy coffee, tea, water, and a lite snack, while we review the plans for the next three days. (provided by BAC)
9:30am-12:00pm: Drive to Kennedy Park – Lenox, park at Arcadian Shop. Hike either Woolsey, Lookout 2.6-mile trail or the 1.7-mile Woolsey and Aspinwall Loop.
12:30pm-1:00pm: Lunch Break (participants are responsible for purchasing/providing their own lunches)
1:00pm-3:00pm: Drive to Stockbridge, Hike 1.8-mile Laura’s Tower Trail or 1.4-mile Ice Glen Trail.

Day Two: Wednesday, May 17th
8:00am-12:00am: Meet at Benedict Pond Loop Trail – enjoy a brief snack, coffee, tea, or water and get ready to hike this 2.5-mile loop. (participants should bring their own food/beverages)
12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch Break (participants are responsible for purchasing/providing their own lunches)
1:00pm-3:00pm: Drive to Bartholomew’s Cobble Ashley Falls, hike the 2.5-mile Ledges, Bailey, and Spiro Trails.

6:30pm to 8:45pm: Sunset Opportunity at Baldwin Hill Road, Egremont

Day Three: Friday, May 26th
4:00am-6:00am: Dawn at Stockbridge Bowl Boat Ramp
6:00am-8:00am: Breakfast at Local site for a breakfast (participants are responsible for purchasing their own breakfast)
8:00am-11:30am: Bash Bish Falls Park (New York State Entrance) Hike to the falls, 1-mile, photograph the stream, the falls and we meet at the end of the shoot to discuss the past three days and results.

(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Monday, May 1. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

Beginning January 2023, proof of vaccination is no longer required for this class. Masks will continue to be optional, but encouraged for this class. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.

CLASS MATERIALS

Students must bring a camera system, of their choice (DSLR, Smartphone/Tablet, Mirrorless, or Film) and a tri pod. Not required but helpful materials include ND filter, Sky filter/UV and Polarizing filter. Students are responsible for any site or parking fees associated with various locations of this class.
