This six week course will explore observation drawing of still-life subjects, beginning with charcoal studies and then leading into use of color with pastel. The class will start with gestural approaches to rendering leading into longer studies involving layering with the medium. The instructor will demonstrate various techniques to explain the versatility of each medium.

Drawing experience is recommended, but specific pastel experience is not needed. Don't let the cost of materials stop you from making art! If financial barriers make purchasing materials for this class difficult, please email info@berkshireartcenter.org to request that a materials kit be provided to you.
