Using soft slab construction, students will learn to make mugs, tumblers, soup bowls, and more. Explore how form and/or surface treatment can unify a body of work to create a dynamic, yet related set of dishes for your table. Learn to create signature textures as well as a myriad of underglaze applications.

Open to all levels and beginners welcome!

(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Tuesday, February 21. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with BAC for this class. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the first day of your class.

Masks will be mandatory for this class with Paula Shalan at this time. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.

CLASS MATERIALS

  • Students registering for this class must purchase the Ceramics Class Materials Fee including clay, glazing, and firing. If you have leftover clay purchased from BAC in the last year, the clay purchase requirement can be waived. Please be sure to mention this in the "NOTES/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION" section of your registration. Per the instructor's recommendation, beginner students registering for this class should purchase the “95400 White Clay” option. Intermediate/Advanced students may select the clay type of their choice.
