Deterred by the blank canvas, but want to try your hand at painting? In this class you’ll learn the basics to abstract painting—including paint mixing, mark making, and composition—as well as how to pair written narrative with your abstractions. By learning what facilitates and what obstructs your personal creative process, you can learn the technical and mental tips and tools to overcome obstacles and unleash your creativity. You’ll document your creative journey by mounting your finished paintings in a large notebook (like a mini gallery) and writing in the margins as you go along, turning your paintings and process into a practice of storytelling.
