(This workshop was originally scheduled for February 5th, but has been rescheduled so there is still time to sign up!)

Chalice Mitchell will teach ink painting in a step-by-step progression that makes ink accessible. Students will learn to paint plum blossoms, one of the four symbolic plant forms that form the basis of traditional ink painting. The other three; bamboo, orchid, and chrysanthemum will be taught in spring, summer, and autumn respectively. The plum blossom is often the first plant to flower at the end of winter and is symbolic for its strength and resilience.

Note: This workshop will include a 30 minute lunch break at 12:30pm. Please be sure to bring food, as Berkshire Art Center is not closely located near anywhere to purchase lunch.
