This course will focus on an exploration of the cohesive combination of utilitarian forms creating a set or piece specific to a drink, food, or experience. As the maker you will decide how forms will relate with one another and curate the interaction with the user or viewer. We will begin with designing sets utilizing drawings and paper cutouts then bring the sets to life with an emphasis on craftsmanship. Students will further develop wheel throwing skills and learn different techniques used when creating a range of utilitarian forms.

(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Thursday, February 23. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

Beginning January 2023, proof of vaccination is no longer required for this class. Masks will continue to be optional, but encouraged for this class. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.
