Got the midwinter Blues? Now is the time to look at your own environment and rediscover hidden treasures, ripe to be made into still life photographs, with low winter natural light. In this class we will learn to work within your individual environments between class meetings to create simple photographic still life vignettes using ordinary and/or special objects you have at home; your personal treasures within your reach. We will work with low winter light, both early morning and late afternoon, to create photographic magic. By harnessing the winter light source, we will not need to be technical. The magic will reveal itself. Work may be shot with a camera, iphone or ipad. The goal is to find something right under your nose, bring it to life by putting it into the light and suddenly a scenario will appear. This class will require homework/shooting assignments between classes which we will then discuss and critique within our time together.” Magic happens with light. We only need to discover it!
(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Thursday, March 14. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
