End Date: February 7, 2024

This series will focus on monotype, the most painterly of printmaking processes. Working with an etching press, we will explore a range of techniques to create textures, layers and spontaneous imagery within our prints. Working on Plexi “plates,” we’ll begin by using stencils, brushes, and tools, and go a bit deeper, rounding out our experimentation with drypoint (using a sharp tool to “draw” on the plate) and Chine-colle (transferring images onto your print by bonding one paper layer to another). All levels welcome to this fun, exploratory class!
(In the event that BAC has to cancel class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Wednesday, February 14. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
