Writing and Abstract Painting (Early Winter Session) — Jan 8
Instructor: Wednesday Nelena Sorokin
Day & Time: Wednesdays, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Start Date: January 8, 2025
End Date: February 12, 2025
Location: Citizens' Hall, Stockbridge
Materials: See class description.
In this class, you will learn how to initiate and develop abstract paintings that connect with your life. Using stream of consciousness writing to inspire paintings, you will find and develop visual analogs to your ideas through expressive color, shape, and mark-making. Working in a supportive environment and employing discussion, analysis of artwork, and use of a limited palette, you will learn how to use color and design effectively. You’ll never have to fear a blank canvas again.
(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Wednesday, February 19. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
