A four-session course teaching you the ins and outs of designing successful photographs. During the first session, we will review some of the greatest photographers' work, including Ansel Adams, Georgia O’Keeffe, Irving Penn, Berenice Abbott, Walker Evans, Diana Arbus, and many others. During the second session, we'll begin understanding how the act of intentionally designing photographs differs from simply "taking pictures", and is based first on observation, second on understanding the concept of creative compositions, and lastly, on creating an intimate relationship with your photography technology of choice -- creating your own photographic style,. During the third session, we'll apply the lessons presented to allow you to create your own series of designed photographs. This session may take place outdoors, weather permitting. To complete the series, we will meet to informally review and discuss everyone's results.
(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled make-up date for this course will be Sunday, March 16. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
