Love is in the air! As Valentine's Day approaches, join BAC to create photographic portraits of the one(s) you love and explore the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And, you only need your phone! Couples, friends, or families will learn to compose, capture, and edit unique, smartphone-based portraits. Learn to use props like frames, mirrors, transparent cloth, oblique angles, and other creative techniques to enhance the traditional portrait. Experiment in Portrait or Beauty Mode as well as many other smartphone modes that can be used to differentiate a traditional portrait from more modern outcomes. We'll also learn basic editing techniques and explore post production skills to complete our portraits.

Students will need an iPhone or any smartphone camera.

ACCESSIBILITY

NOTE: This class will be held in Berkshire Art Center’s 2D Studio at Citizens’ Hall, Stockbridge. Our 2D Studio is located on the main level of the building, which is accessible via a ramp from the parking lot. In addition, restrooms are located on the basement level of our building so stair use is also required.

For all classes held at Citizens’ Hall in Stockbridge, please note our historic building has narrow doorways and is not equipped with an elevator. Our bathrooms, ceramics studio, and 3D studio are accessible via stairs only. We welcome and make every effort to accommodate learners of all styles and abilities.
