Location: Hancock Shaker Village
Join artist Michael Rousseau to experience the grounds and historic architecture of the Hancock Shaker Village through charcoal. In this workshop we will focus on the architectural drawing of the Round Stone Barn, Hancock Shaker Village’s most iconic and prominent landmark. Learn charcoal drawing techniques as you explore the barn through art surrounded by this idyllic Shaker landscape.
Tuition includes site entrance.
Materials
$10 Optional Charcoal Drawing Kit (add to cart below — students will receive kit upon arrival)
If not purchasing a Charcoal Drawing Kit, Suggested Materials are as follows:
1 compressed charcoal 1 2B charcoal pencil
1 6B charcoal pencil
1 white General's pencil
1 kneaded eraser
Paper towel
Sketchbook or sketch paper (recommended Strathmore sketch paper, 9"x12"
Optional: Newsprint or paper to test techniques with
Equipment provided: Chair, Drawing board, Fixative
