Introduction to Smartphone/Tablet Photography — Mar 3
Instructor: Thad Kubis
Day & Time: Thursday, 1:00pm-5:00pm
Dates: March 3, 2022
Location: Citizens' Hall, Stockbridge
Materials List: See class description.
Your smartphone (or tablet) is with you all the time without the complex controls and expense of a DSLR camera. Smartphones/Tablets encourage impulse shooting, reliance on auto settings, and limited use of the aspect ratio that each smartphone/tablet can offer. In this class, we will begin with an overview of iPhone, Google and Android devices, their functions, and supportive camera app features. We will review the major elements of lighting, composition and cover the use of nearly all your device’s functions. The four-hour session will be segmented into 1) Smartphone basics, how to use your smartphone/tablet camera system, 2) Image and Composition, indoors or outside we will work on the need to compose, pre-visualize images and 3) How to transfer, edit, post, and archive your smartphone imagery.
(In the event that IS183 has to cancel class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this workshop will be Thursday, March 10. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with IS183. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the day of your class.
