This course will focus on the investigation of form for the soda firing process. Altering utilitarian wheel thrown forms with the intention of creating surfaces that will emphasize the firing technique. Students will develop wheel throwing skills while learning to consider the depth that can be created through sculptural additions and layering of slips and glazes.

(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Tuesday, October 25. BAC will prorate students for any classes missed due religious observation and high holidays on which classes are scheduled. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with BAC. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the first day of your class.

As July 5, 2022, masks are optional, but encouraged for students, staff, and faculty. Please review updated COVID Safety Plan HERE.
