This course will explore glaze effects and color. Students will learn what raw materials make up glazes and how they affect their final results. This course is designed for anyone who is interested in ceramics and looking to improve their understanding of glazes to create a better relationship between their forms and glaze. Through testing we can solve glaze flaws and achieve sought after effects and colors.

Note: This course has had a change in its name and was previously called “Glazing Chemistry”.
(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Thursday, December 15. BAC will prorate students for any classes missed due religious observation and high holidays on which classes are scheduled. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
Each student (age 14+) is required to have a current Proof of Vaccination Form on file with BAC. Please fill out and submit a form prior to the first day of your class.

CLASS MATERIALS
A materials fee has been included in this course tuition including test tiles, glazes, and firing (No clay purchase necessary).
Please note it is mandatory that all students must wear a respirator during each class session, which can be purchased online on Amazon's website in advance of the first day of the course.
