The Fundamentals of Drawing (Fall Session 1) — Sept 6

This drawing class will begin with the basic techniques for drawing 3D objects using perspective, composition and shading. We start with simple forms and will work with single objects and still lifes utilizing different rendering styles. We will continue with natural world including plants and landscape also involving more complex composition and perspective. The next stage will cover portrait drawing including self-portraits, then we will do figure drawing and study the draping of clothing. There will be a live model for the final two classes in the session.

CLASS MATERIALS
Students will need to bring H, HB, B & 2B Graphite Pencils, a Kneaded Eraser, and an 11x17 Drawing Pad.
AGE REQUIREMENT
Berkshire Art Center’s figure drawing courses and sessions feature nude models. Classes are open to adults ages 18+ unless a student has a signed consent form from a parent or guardian allowing them to participate in the session. Please email info@berkshireartcenter.org to request the form.
