Chalice Mitchell will teach ink painting in a step-by-step progression that makes ink accessible. Students will learn to paint bamboo, one of the four symbolic plant forms that form the basis of traditional ink painting. The other three; plum blossom, orchid, and chrysanthemum will be taught in winter, spring, and autumn respectively. Bamboo represents vitality, strength and flexibility and is symbolic of summer.
