This class is not only for beginners but for any oil painter needing the basics of oil painting. Setting up a palette, how to establish a strong composition, mixing colors, how to desaturate/mute a color to create subtle tones, ways of applying paint, and the latest in properly cleaning a brush. Come work in a supportive environment!
(In the event that BAC has to cancel a class session due to weather or facility emergencies, please note the pre-scheduled makeup date for this course will be Thursday, May 30. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)
Please note masks are still mandatory and required to be worn for this class at this time.

If you are first time painter unable to provide your own materials, BAC will provide everything you need for a materials fee. To request, please email info@berkshireartcenter.org.
ACCESSIBILITY
NOTE: This class will be held in Berkshire Art Center’s 2D Studio at Citizens’ Hall, Stockbridge. Our 2D Studio is located on the main level of the building, which is accessible via a ramp from the parking lot. In addition, restrooms are located on the basement level of our building so stair use is also required.
For all classes held at Citizens’ Hall in Stockbridge, please note our historic building has narrow doorways and is not equipped with an elevator. Our bathrooms, ceramics studio, and 3D studio are accessible via stairs only. We welcome and make every effort to accommodate learners of all styles and abilities. Please contact us if you have questions about accessibility to our building and classes before registering!
