Students with all levels of experience are welcome to join Figure Painting. We will cover all the basics to painting the human body including proportion, anatomy, and color mixing. Instruction will be given through demos and one-on-one guidance. Students will hone their skills during one long pose throughout the day. Chalice will teach in oils, but students are welcome to paint in acrylic if they prefer.

Note: This workshop will include a 30 minute lunch break at 12:30pm. Please be sure to bring food, as Berkshire Art Center is not closely located near anywhere to purchase lunch.

(In the event that BAC has to cancel class due to weather or facility emergencies, please note as the pre-scheduled makeup date for this workshop will be Sunday, August 25. More information on our policies for cancellations can be found HERE.)

AGE REQUIREMENT

Berkshire Art Center’s figure painting classes feature nude models. Classes are open to adults ages 18+ unless a student has a signed consent form from a parent or guardian allowing them to participate in the session. Please email info@berkshireartcenter.org to request the form.

ACCESSIBILITY

NOTE: This class will be held in Berkshire Art Center’s 2D Studio at Citizens’ Hall, Stockbridge. Our 2D Studio is located on the main level of the building, which is accessible via a ramp from the parking lot. In addition, restrooms are located on the basement level of our building so stair use is also required.

For all classes held at Citizens’ Hall in Stockbridge, please note our historic building has narrow doorways and is not equipped with an elevator. Our bathrooms, ceramics studio, and 3D studio are accessible via stairs only. We welcome and make every effort to accommodate learners of all styles and abilities.
